Our Principal Researcher
For the last ten years I’ve worked with folks from the criminal justice sector of nearly ever county in Oregon and every stop in the system.
A highlight of my career so far is working as the Criminologist at the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission. In this job I learned that many criminal justice leaders in Oregon value data and want to use it to help their offices function better.

My love of data can be traced back to the age of 7, when I received a child’s detective book for my birthday. I loved the idea of looking for clues and evidence and being able to answer a question that, up to that point, was a mystery. I immediately decided I want to be a detective - until I realized that that job often involves rather grisly situations.
Eventually I discovered social science which combines my love of using evidence to answer questions with my desire to contribute and make a positive impact. I earned my PhD at University of Oregon in Sociology and went on to use my skills to the criminal justice sector in Oregon.
